JavaScript 2.0
The new version of JavaScript aims to promote the script language to a full blown OOP language, with classes, inheritance, object-everything (no primitive types), etc. A change like this will inevitably create the standard issue bloat nay-sayers (refer to the C vs. C++ argument, in which C++ “is just C with a bunch of bloated useless garbage”, or VB classic vs VB.NET or ASP classic vs ASP.NET or C++ vs Java or…). So which side of the fence are you on, does JavaScript need OOP?
